Start with three days in a comfortable jungle cabana at Hickatee Cottages just outside of Punta Gorda in Belize's southernmost and least explored Toledo District.

Ian and Kate Morton are among Belize's best hosts, and Hickatee was recently awarded the honor of #1 B&B in Belize by Travel Advisor.

Kate and Ian will guide you in seeing local sites in an entirely new way, combining both culture and adventure.

For example, have breakfast in a local Punta Gorda restaurant that most tourists never see, then board a public bus to the Lubaantun Mayan ruins, where you can pick up your own private guide for these beautiful and mystical ruins.  On the way, you'll get to meet some very friendly Belizeans and experience Belize the way those of us who live here do.

And, on Wednesday and Saturdays, you can opt to explore a private butterfly farm that exports butterfly pupae throughout the world.  In your spare time, take a jungle hike on the Hickatee trails or a bike ride to explore Punta Gorda.

While at Hickatee, you'll hear Howler Monkeys, maybe even spot a jaguar (or at least its tracks) and find hundreds of native birds and plants right outside your door.

Next stop, a beachfront cabana or beachfront room in a small, locally owned beachfront hotel in Placencia Village, at the end of the road on the Placencia Peninsula.  (If you run into the Sea, you've gone too far.)

Walk to local restaurants, beach bars and shops, wander the miles of almost deserted beaches, swim in the Caribbean, and spend a day at an offshore caye that offers wonderful snorkeling and swimming - and also evokes the Placencia of days past.

Want to feel a little like Indiana Jones (but with more comforts of home thrown in)?  US$795.50 per person through 31 May 2010, based on 2 adults, double occupancy, including the following:
