Turneffe Flats started life as
a saltwater fly fishing lodge. It still offers great fishing on
the 750 square miles of flats in the Turneffe Atoll.
However, while the fishing is
still good in Turneffe, Turneffe Flats has evolved into a full service
resort with some very unique tours and lodging on 25 acres of
beautifully landscaped grounds.
First the tours - not only outstanding fishing,
diving and snorkeling, but also a wide range of other tours to suit
anyone with any interest at all in marine life and marine ecology -
tours focusing on marine birds, crocodiles, dolphins and manatees,
flats walking tours, kayaking, a Turneffe marine ecology tour, a tour
focusing on the Maya and Turneffe Atoll - even a Belize cooking class.
Lodging
is in beach cabanas, a 3-bedroom seafront villa and a 3-bedroom garden
and seaview villa. Amenities include an infinity swimming pool,
restaurant, dive shop, meeting room and exercise room.
Excellent meals and
management/owners who put their hearts into the resort - and into
preserving the very unique Turneffe Atoll.
